Sum-ware over the rainbow: hyper, higher and transseries asymptotics
Chris Howls
This talk will give an account of some further key developments in the quantitative use of concepts of resurgence in exponential asymptotics. Ideas include algebraic hyperasymptotic resolution of the Borel plane, the higher order Stokes phenomenon, virtual turning points and multiple-scales transseries summation. Applications include to multidimensional integrals, nonlinear ODEs, PDES, boundary layer calculations and even to jet engine noise.
The emergence of gravitation from entanglement in AdS/CFT
Peter Jones
In this talk I will discuss some recent attempts to describe the emergence of gravitation from entanglement in AdS/CFT, focusing on arXiv:1312.7856 and arXiv:1412.1879.
Vacuum Stability in SM extensions with TeV Scale Right Handed Neutrinos
Luigi Delle Rose (INFN-Lecce)
Abstract: We investigate the stability of the scalar potential in extensions of the Standard Model with three right handed neutrinos at the TeV scale. In particular, we focus our analysis on a minimal U(1)' extension with type-I and inverse seesaw mechanisms for the generation of the small neutrino masses. This class of models, in which the vacuum expectation value of the extra scalar is chosen in the TeV range, is potentially accessible at the LHC experiment. We show that the requirements of stability of the potential within the perturbative evolution under the renormalization group impose significant constraints on the Yukawa couplings of the right handed neutrinos.
