A Parable for Pentecost
A Parable for Pentecost
The Kingdom of Heaven is like
a man with a dandelion seed
which he plants on his beautiful, grassy lawn
a weed grows
it’s seeds blow on the wind
soon the man’s lawn is full of dandelions
their seeds blow on the wind
soon the neighbours have dandelions
soon the whole town has dandelions
and there’s nothing anyone can do about it
That is how it is with faith
one person has it,
a little
then a lot
then his or her neighbour have it
and pretty soon the whole town has it
and there’s nothing anyone can do about it
Along came a man with a solution
he had chemicals that would kill the weeds
and all the weeds were killed
but pretty soon a dandelion grew up anyway
spread it’s seeds on the wind
and pretty soon the whole town was full of dandelions again
and there’s nothing anyone can do about it
That is how it is with faith
and there’s nothing anyone can do about it
