7..."Superstitious awe of astrology makes one an automation, slavishly dependent on mechanical guidance. The wise man defeats his planets which is to say, his past by transferring his allegiance from the creation to the Creator. The more he realizes his unity with Spirit, the less he can be dominated by matter. The soul is ever-free; it is deathless because birthless. It cannot be regimented by stars.

The same result can be deciphered from this statement too, that a Soul cannot be limited by planets and stars. This is exactly what Swami Vivekananda said in one of his lectures "Man, The Maker of his Destiny" - " The highest things are under your feet, because you are Divine Stars; all these things are under your feet. You can swallow the stars by the handful if you want; such is your real nature. Be strong, get beyond all superstitions, and be free."

8..."Man is a soul, and has a body. When he properly places his sense of identity, he leaves behind all compulsive patterns. So long as he remains confused in his ordinary state of spiritual amnesia, he will know the subtle fetters of environmental law."

"The deeper the self-realization of a man, the more he influences the whole universe by his subtle spiritual vibrations, and the less he himself is affected by the phenomenal flux."

This statement of Sri Swami Yukteswara ji is very important as it describes when is the use of Astrology necessary and when it is totally unnecessary. He says that Man is a SOUL. If he realises that he is a soul in totality, he cannot be compelled by any force or cannot be restrained by any planet or star. Hence, Astrology is rubbish for him, just as Swami Vivekananda describes in his lectures. But so long as the man has not realised himself as a soul, as one with God, he will be compelled to experience the various forces that exist in nature among which planets and stars form one. Hence use of Astrology is justified for such a person.

So both are correct in their respective places - The Spiritual Saints and the Astrologers. Having said that, our aim should be to cross boundaries of all forces and realise ourselves as true souls, that is to attain 'liberation'. It is only then that we no longer remain a puppet of planets.

9..."God is harmony; the devotee who attunes himself will never perform any action amiss. His activities will be correctly and naturally timed to accord with astrological law. After deep prayer and meditation he is in touch with his divine consciousness; there is no greater power than that inward protection."

In this particular line Sri Swami Yukteswar ji says that though a liberated soul is free from all forces, yet his activities are still in attunement with all the forces that exist within this world. Although he is free from all planetay effects, yet his actions do not overrule them. His activities are all done obeying the laws of nature, though he has power to overrule them, for he is always in touch with his divine consciousness. It has been often realised at different times by different devotees that, saints for the benefit of their devotees, do overrule the Astrological laws.

10..."It is only when a traveler has reached his goal that he is justified in discarding his maps. During the journey, he takes advantage of any convenient short cut. The ancient rishis discovered many ways to curtail the period of man's exile in delusion. There are certain mechanical features in the law of karma which can be skillfully adjusted by the fingers of wisdom."

This statement further advises that Astrological laws should be discarded only by those who have realised their goals of life that is realised that they are souls. And until that has not been achieved, it is wise to take advantage of every shortcut that they can take to. This is, obviously, an indication towards the proper use of Astrology.
