Open the Book

GLYN'S LAST OTB - MAY 2024

July 2023

The last Open the Book sessions have taken place in all five schools.  The story of the Centurion's Servant was told with the ehlp of all the children obeying orders with the phrase 'Yes, sir!  Right away, sir!

The centurion, used to giving commands to his 100 men.

The centurion hears the news that his servant is ill.

Jesus says that of course he will heal the centurion's servant.

'Just give the order and I know that my servant will be healed!'

Thank you, Alan

Alan has been part of the Open the Book Team at Halberton for the last 10 years.  He started when Helen was Children and Families Worker!

He has faithfully learned his lines, been into Halberton School, taken part in some of the films and had some laughs along the way.

He has decided that the time has come to stop.  Thank you, Alan for your contribution to OTB.  Here he is, receiving a thank you card from Mandy.

JUNE 2023

In January 2023 we were able to go back into schools and we received a very warm welcome from each of the schools.  The Story was a modern version of The Good Samaritan, so most of the cast were in modern-day dress.

CHRISTMAS 2022

In December 2022 the Open the Book Team produced another film for schools to watch when it suited them, telling the Christmas Story.

AUTUMN 2022

As schools went back, the Open the Book team managed to avoid the heavy downpours and film our first story of the year.  The film is called God's Friend and tells the story of Abraham.  Then in October they produced another film, to continue the story - The Bad Brother.  In November they went back into school for the first time in over two years.
