Just wanted to let everyone know that the club has a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/SportsmanHuntClubOfNewKentCounty
I just want to thank everyone for the help in selling the raffle tickets. After the payment for the trip, the total money raised for the club was $955.00. I conducted the drawing today at Bishops outpost. I asked a little girl if she would do the drawing (well I asked her grand mother first). The winning ticket was 0449. The winner is Joyce Wilson of Yorktown. The video is too large. I will see what I can do to compress the video.
Please see the message below from Earl Joyner
I spoke with Mike Welborn (yard sale committee chair) .mike got the marine weather forecast while at work.It appears that mother nature is not in sink with our schedule.
The marine forecast it calling for rain and possible wind gust 50-60 MPH.
Mike suggested we change the date and I agree,I don't want this stuff laying around another two weeks either but I don't think we have much choice.
Next week it appears that most of the area schools is having graduation, and some of our members will be attending those events.
The new date for the yard sale is,all drop off times and sale times will not change.
on thatanother group will have a small tent set up selling food for a charity origination ,
Their presents will help us bring in more people, and that a good thing.
I know this it the second time we have rescheduled the sale and I thank you for your patients and understanding.
Next time we will put someone else in charge of the weather!!
Next BOD meetingy house in the mam cave.

The attached file provides proposed changes to our By Laws that need to be approved by the general membership at the spring meeting. This will also include presentation of our 2013-14 budget. In order to provide the required 10 days notice for those not having email, we are slipping the spring meeting two weeks to give that additional time and avoid Easter weekend. More details on the spring meeting change to follow as soon as revised reservations are available.
The highlighted portions of the By Laws changes have been reviewed and recommended for approval by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has not reached consensus on dog driver compensation changes. The change in dog driver compensation shown in 10.1 to 10.3 is that recommended by the By Laws committee. Section 10.4 represents an possible compromise of many views effective for one year. We have all spend a large amount of time on this issue and there are many divergent views. We are all struggling to reach a solution balancing justified benefit to the club with what is affordable. The Board of directors must reach consensus to formulate and propose a budget to the membership.
Come Join Us at our Spring Meeting. The meeting will be held 6:00 pm on 7 Apr 2013.
Please Bring Family and Friends
The Saturday work party will proceed as planned. The advanced survey party has flagged stand lines and moved stands as necessary for safety and has the necessary items for repairs available. Bring tools to clear trails and cut shooting lanes (chain saw, loppers, machete, bush ax, etc.) Earl is planning to cook. Scattered rain in the morning is possible. There appears to be a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon so our work party may get cut short. It was warm enough that I picked up a couple of ticks working in New Kent Wednesday and also saw one snake moving around. You might want to bring your bug spray.
We are canceling the Sunday work party. The Board of Directors will meet on Sunday instead to address budget and other issues. We will get out a new schedule for spring work parties in the near future.
REMINDER: For those that have not paid yet, 1st half dues are due by March 31 or a $50 late fee applies.
I am currently working with Ed Kraft to update the web site and remove out dated information. This is a lot of discovery learning. Thanks for your patients. Dave Barbour
