(As set by the BC Ministry of Education for all Distributed Learning Programs)
All SPIDER families are required to:
1) Maintain reasonable levels of communication with their Teacher Consultant (responsiveness to periodic emails & phone calls).
2) Submit a Learning Plan to their Teacher Consultant on or before a date set by the Teacher Consultant. This date will be Friday, September 20th for the 2024/2025school year.
3) Submit a work sample to their teacher consultant by Friday, September 20th for the 2024/2025school year. This is meant to show engagement with the learning plan. For example, it could be a piece of writing, a video or a finished art project. It can be submitted in person or by email.
4) Submit examples of Literacy and Math work in the fall so teachers can complete a Fall Learning Report.
5) Participate in a mid-term Three Way Conference (Learner-Parent-Teacher), at which they will provide sufficient evidence that meaningful learning is occurring across the academic subject areas. This typically happens in January and is a critical component of transformative assessment.
6) Participate in a summative Three Way Conference, at which they will provide sufficient evidence that meaningful learning is occurring across the academic subject areas. This typically happens in May/June and is a critical component of transformative assessment.
7) Self evaluate on the 6 Core Competency areas and participate in goal-setting. A template will be provided. Use that or create your own version to give or email to a teacher by mid-June.
