GETTING THERE
From the thermal resort of Tús (Balneario de Tús), near Yeste (Albacete province), take the road towards Vado de Tús and, after crossing a river, take the turn-off to the right towards Los Giles. Here, there are some information panels with maps of the long distance route (GR). A road goes on the right and climbs to the houses of Las Lagunicas, where there are some places to park the car.
DESCRIPTION
From Las Lagunicas, a road goes up to Tinada de los Mancheños, a group of houses at a little pass. Continuing by the road, you cross to another valley and after crossing a stream at the bottom, the path becomes an un-asphalted track. It starts to climb again. Be aware of the red and white signs as at a certain point, a path turns-off on the right hand. Following it continuously, guided with the signals, will take to the bullring of Pozo Romero.
The path goes a first part in a pine forest that grows many times over the rock, with a thin layer of soil. Nonetheless, there is a rich variety of accompanying species, such as Juniperus sabina, Juniperus oxycedrus, Quercus ilex ssp ballota, Rosmarinus officinalis, Cistus spp, Lavandula officinalis a various species of the genre Thymus.
Once in open air, near the top, the landscape is dominated by pasturages of the called lastón (Brachypodium retusum) and thorny bushes like Erinacea anthyllis and Echinospartum boisseri.
