Trails are for Southcliff residents only

Southcliff Hikers,
You may recall on October 18 we closed Summit Trail from the trailhead up to Blossom Ridge Trail due to safety concerns from a very large downed tree and its root ball blocking the trail, located about 1/10 mile up from the trailhead. Our contractor recently completed the work to reroute the trail around the obstacle. While additional cleanup and remediation work remains, we have inspected the work and confirmed the trail is now safe enough to use.
We are, therefore, reopening the trail to hikers. However, we still urge caution when passing by the fallen tree. An adjacent underground spring is currently keeping the trail wet, so footing could be a bit slippery. In addition, large rocks used for the rerouted trail might still be somewhat unstable.
