god with us: good news for you and me

Post date: November 7, 2023 2020 3:59:38 PM

It all started around 4 B.C., but its effect carries on into 2023. South Bay Bible Church, 578 Montauk Highway, East Moriches, is pleased to announce the start of God With Us: Good News for You and Me on Sunday, December 3, at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Join us in person or online at southbaychurchli.org/livestream, Facebook Live, or YouTube.

“The impact of Jesus’ incarnation is multi-faceted,” said Matt Horne, lead pastor. “It’s time for us to move beyond the manger and see how His life can change ours too.”

Whether you consider yourself a church person or not, you’re invited to join us for this four-part series, God With Us, as Pastor Matt reveals how the coming of Jesus is not only historical, but personal.

1. Meet Your Maker (John 1:1-3) – December 3: The story of Jesus started long before the manger. Before mankind ever had a history, there was His story, and in knowing His story, you can better understand your story. Behind your finite life is the infinite Jesus. You were made by Him, for Him.

2. Let There Be Light! (John 1:4-9) – December 10: It can be easy these days to be overwhelmed with the chaos in the world around you and even in your own life. As life seems to get darker by the minute, we have Someone we can turn to. Those who come under The Light will find healing and freedom as the darkness is exposed and the path forward is revealed.

3. A New Identity (John 1:9-13) – December 17: In the midst of a society where people are either obsessed with self-identification or suffering under the designated “labels” that have been placed on them by others, there is One who offers them a new identity. The list of requirements is incredibly brief, but the list of rewards is unending.

4. The Author Enters the Story (John 1:14-18) – December 24: Who is God? What is He like? These are the questions that humanity has contemplated and attempted to answer in many different ways. In Jesus’ coming to the Earth, we see God answering the questions for us. Jesus came as God in flesh, that we might learn who God is and what He is like.
