The Moriches Bay area of Long Island, New York now has a community website featuring a community calendar, directory of key organizations and community members, announcements, and a picture gallery. The goal of the website is to help bring the community together, build community spirit, and promote unity in our activities and lives. This website is sponsored under the Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches.
On Wednesday, August 21, 2013, Julie Pratt of Bridgehampton National Bank brought together community organizations throughout the Moriches Bay area to create collaboration in the scheduling of activities and events. Center Moriches High School student, Craig Hawley, volunteered to lead this effort on the world-wide-web, so all the community information could be gathered and maintained in one central area.
Matthew Horne, Associate Pastor of South Bay Bible Church now leads this collaboration for the Chamber.
Businesses and community organizations can link their sites directly to the Moriches Bay Community Calendar website, or they can establish an RSS feed link to the calendar, directory, and/or announcements as they desire.
Information is easy to post and update as needed. To add a Community Calendar item, simply click on the Calendar link on the left of the page, and click Add a Calendar Item. In less than a minute, your community event can be listed on the South Bay Community website.
