Christianity 101: How One Man and His Story Changed History

Many have had their fill of religion. What makes Christianity so different? “Often times, people will lump Christianity with every other religion,” said Matt Horne, lead pastor. “But the Christian story is rather unique and extremely compelling.”

Whether you consider yourself a church person or not, you’re invited to join us for this three-part series, Christianity 101, as Pastor Matt teaches six essential elements of our faith and how they can make all the difference in your life.

1. Death and Resurrection (Matthew 27:45-54; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4) – March 31: Our faith began with a story about one unique man which culminated in two unique events. His name was Jesus, and though he died and was buried like any ordinary man would be, something crazy happened shortly after… He got up from his grave. What makes this story unique, and why should it matter to you?

2. Grace and Faith (Ephesians 2:1-10) – April 7: All major religions around the world preach a kind of deliverance that is fueled by the efforts and virtues of man. Those are self-help religions, but Christianity is different. We believe that God has helped us and that we will be delivered simply by trusting in His grace.

3. Love and Good Deeds (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25) – April 14: Those who have trusted in Jesus are brought into a new kind of community, not built on personality or preference, but on the values taught to us by Jesus. This is the church, and we exist to love God and our neighbors by doing good in the world. We believe God will use us as witnesses to draw more people to Jesus.
