Essays are a chance to show the world what you know and understand about a particular topic. In an argumentative essay, the writer makes a claim -- takes a position on a topic -- and then uses facts to back up the choice. If you've ever tried to talk your parents into letting you do something, then you, too, can write an argumentative essay!
First, we'll make a Voki:
1) Watch this introductory video
2) Go to the Voki website, sign up for an account, write your username & password in your daybook with your other computer information
3) Create your Voki -- be sure to record your voice message
4) Read your article with your group, as I explain in the introductory video on my school blog
5) You and your group should decide what you think about the question your article tries to answer. Once you do, you'll create a group Voki that tells your thoughts. Remember that you only have one minute to speak, so you'll need to write down your reasoning & practice speaking.
6) Publish both Voki's on your school blog.
7) Copy & paste the link to your group Voki in the Comment section below.
