Slideball Hacks

This is a How-To video showing step by step instructions for adding a custom sound module onto the 2002 SF Giants Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper bobblehead.

This sound module can record up to 2 minutes of sound through an external USB port and will play a different recorded phrase each time the play button is pressed.

Materials & Parts:

    • hot glue gun

    • soldering gun

This a custom Brian Wilson Fear The Beard Bobblehead that I created by painting his jersey and shoes bright oranges and adding a beard to his face.

I used acrylic paints with a #5 beaver fur paintbrush. Water colors will not adhere to the epoxy plastic surface and latex paint will peal off over time.

This is a modified Madison Bumgarner Giants bobblehead that I created for fun. After throwing a shutout in game 4 of the 2010 World Series, I thought that kid deserved a promotion to the major leagues.

The process involved removing all the old logos, creating new ones, gluing them onto the body, and repainting everything. I tired to do this in a way that was fast, easy to reproduce, relatively cheap, and with materials that you can find. Cost about $10 and three hours.

Feel free to contact me if you want more technical details. It should be noted that I am not a "for-hire" artist. I develop the protocol and share these skills so you can do them yourself. Good luck and Go Giants!

This is a modified Kruk and Kuip Giants bobblehead that plays the final out of the 2010 World Series.

I removed the original sound box under the table and installed a new one USB MP3 module hooked up to the same play button. Should cost about $10 to do and about an hour.

This is my review of the limited edition 2010 Jerry Garcia bobblehead that was given away by the San Francisco Giants on Monday, August 9th, 2010. Only 3000 of these were given away to those who sat in the Grateful Dead section.

Of course, mine is slightly different because installed a small sound chip module into the base and added little rubber feet to the base. It plays a 10 second clip of the Grateful Dead classic, "Truckin"
