How To Spin On Inline Skates - How To Spin On Rollerblades

There are several different ways to spin on inline skates. --The heel spin or rear wheel spin where both front wheels are lifted off the ground. -- The heel and toe spin where you spin on the rear wheel of one skate and the front wheel of the other, --The toe spin where you spin on two front wheels.

This series of pictures show me doing the heel and toe spin.

Video of me doing spins: Click here to watch video(s) showing how to spin on inline skates and rollerblades.

I demonstrate two types of spins in the video:

(1) (Heel spin) A spin on both the rear wheels. (Heel spin)

(2) (Heel and toe spin) A spin on the rear wheel of one skate and the front wheel of the other. (Heel and toe spin)

You can also spin on the front wheels of inline skates - I have another video that demonstrates how to toe spin.

Tips for doing the spins:

-Keep your knees bent slightly so you can adjust your balance.

-(Heel spin) When doing a rear wheel spin, both toes are lifted off the ground and one foot should be slightly in front of the other. To spin to the right, have the right foot slightly in front of the left and lead into the spin with the right foot. To spin to the left, have the left foot slightly in front of the right and lead into the spin with the left foot. Most people spin better in one direction.

- (Heel and toe spin) When spinning on the rear wheel of one skate and the front wheel of the other, You can start by skating in a straight line with the toe up on the front foot and heel up on the back foot.

-(Toe spin) You can also spin on two front wheels - with one foot slightly in front of the other, lift both rear wheels and spin! (important note: on some types of inline skates, it is difficult or impossible to do the toe spin)
