First you will need some skates - If you don't already have skates, get them at the following link and help support our website - Purchase inline skates

Before you try out your skates, here is a little tip about keeping your balance on inline skates and rollerblades:

KEEP YOUR KNEES BENT! For rollerblading, inline skating and any other type of balance sports like ice skating, skateboarding, surfing, or skiing, keeping ones knees bent helps you keep your balance. There is more information about keeping your balance on inline skates and rollerblades at my How to keep your balance on inline skates and rollerblades page

IMPORTANT - When first learning how to skate it is wise to wear safety equipment! Safety gear is also a good idea - especially knee pads and especially when learning or trying new tricks - I always wear soft knee pads under my jeans - Have Fun!

Once you have skates, put them on. If you have never skated before, try standing on carpet and walking a bit.

OK try skating on a smooth level surface. Try little steps. Then try gliding - remember to keep your knees bent slightly.

Now glide after each push - push with one skate and glide on the other skate - alternate sides as you push and glide - push with the right and glide on the left the push with the left and glide on the right.

Have Fun!!

Practice!!
