Poster session

Time: 14:00-15:30, 9th June

Location: Medical Building Exhibition Area

This year we are planning to make the poster session an interesting and attractive one. Keeping that objective in mind, we have decided to call for poster abstracts that each candidate must submit on or before the submission deadline.

Submission criteria:

Poster abstracts must be of a single A4 page submission. Participants must use the template given at the bottom of the page to write the content. Please note that references (maximum 8) should be included in a separate page using a suitable and consistent format. The submission may or may not include an appendix of maximum 3 pages. However, this appendix will not be considered for marking but can serve the purpose of clarifying something discussed in the poster abstracts to the reviewers. It is also noted that it is up to reviewers whether or not they want to read the appendix.

Submission should include:

- 1 page summary using the template +

- Reference page (maximum 8 references) +

- Appendix (maximum 3 pages if suitable)

Review:

Our poster review panel will be comprised of experts from the four SICSA research themes who will evaluate each poster abstract against the defined criteria and give them score. Each poster abstract will be evaluated by two panelists who will be experts in that theme.

Poster Themes:

The objective of each of the posters and their evaluation criteria are given below.

Competition:

We will shortlist three candidates (one from each year) from each SICSA research theme based on the earned scores given by reviewers. The names of the shortlisted candidates will be announced during the event. Shortlisted candidates will then have a face-to-face discussion with a jury who will decide winner from each year (irrespective of the research theme).

Deadlines:

Poster Abstract Submission: 12pm, 2 May 2014

Final Poster Submission: 3 June 2014

Reviewers’ Feedback: 9 June 2014 (during the session).

Submission instructions:

During the registration process you will be asked if you intend to submit a poster abstract and present the poster in the conference. Choose the option that is relevant to you.

Please submit your poster abstract using the template in word format to phd.poster@gmail.com

Note:

• Research work that have been previously submitted or presented at other conferences will be accepted. As the abstracts are not going to be formally published, they can be submitted to other conferences.

• Please use the template to write the poster abstract. Do not change the template (i.e. page orientation, text size and format). You are, however, encouraged to use your own headings and write the abstract as you would like to.
