SVR MICHIGAN TOUR

June 23-29. 2012

The SVR weeklong tour of Michigan is over. The travelers drove approximately 1135 miles with no breakdowns, mishaps or rain. It was a hot week with the temperature on the last two days in the mid to high 90’s but their fresh air systems must have worked as all survived. They visited the Yipsilanti Heritage and Miller Motors Hudson Museum, the Edsel Ford Estate, Frankenmuth, the R.E. Olds Museum, the VerHage Mopar Museum, the Gilmore Car Museum, the Air Zoo (airplane museum), the Ye Ole Carriage Shop, the Cascades(waterfalls) and wrapped it up with a stop at the Sauder Village complex in Ohio. In addition to the above, they were treated to a private tour of the Ford Rouge Plant Paint Shop by John Grace. Participants were: Dick & Nancy Black (1947 Chev), Frank & Karen Draskovic (1951 Ford), Bud & Ellen Lilly (1954 Kaiser Darrin) and Don Slanina (1960 Buick)
