FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THEATRE TUSCALOOSA PRESENTS PAGE TO STAGE ONE NIGHT ONLY

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Theatre Tuscaloosa will present Page to Stage: Kate Campbell – Songs & Stories, a one-night-only event on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College.

Theatre Tuscaloosa welcomes back Kate Campbell for an evening filled with Campbell’s original music and personal recollections. Audiences raved over Campbell when she and Dr. Wayne Flynt performed in the 2015 Page to Stage event.

Campbell is a renowned singer-songwriter who is recognized worldwide for her unique sound and story-telling style based on the Southern literary traditions of Flannery O’Connor, Eudora Welty, and William Faulkner.

Since Campbell’s award-winning album Songs from the Levee was released, she has resisted the temptation to follow musical trends and chooses to set the pace for her unique musical journey by bringing her stories to life.

“Kate Campbell’s music and lyrics make you feel like you’ve just reconnected with a long lost friend. You feel a closeness because she’s telling ‘your’ story and yet ‘mankind’s’ story at the same time,” said executive producer Tina Turley. “She touches your heart one minute and makes you laugh the next with her clever turn of phrase. Kate’s truly unique, and I love bringing different types of storytelling to our audiences. It’ll be an unforgettable experience.”

Seating is reserved, and tickets are $24 for adults; $20 for seniors, members of the military, and Shelton State Community College employees; and $16 for students and children. Recordings of Campbell’s work will be available for purchase on-site, and Campbell will be available to sign CDs in the lobby after the performance. Tickets and more information are available at www.theatretusc.com or at 205.391.2277.
