FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THEATRE TUSCALOOSA ANNOUNCES SECONDSTAGE AUDITIONS FOR UPCOMING PRODUCTION

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Theatre Tuscaloosa will hold open auditions for its upcoming SecondStage production of The Other Place Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall just off the lobby of the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College (9500 Old Greensboro Rd).

The Other Place, written by Sharr White, shares the story of researcher Juliana Smithton’s life as it takes a disorienting turn when her research leads to a breakthrough. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. One step at a time, a mystery unravels as contradictory evidence, blurred truth, and fragmented memories collide in a cottage on the windswept shores of Cape Cod.

Two female roles are available for women in their late twenties to early thirties and two male roles are available for men between the ages of 50 and 70. Scripts of The Other Place are available to read in the Ticket Office during regular business hours (Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - noon). Those who audition should prepare for cold readings from the script and a one-minute monologue of their choice.

The Other Place will be presented August 9-12, 2017, at The Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center (620 Greensboro Avenue). Tickets are $8 each, and limited, general admission seating of just 75 seats per performance will be available. Tickets are now on sale.

More details are available at www.theatretusc.com or at 205.391.2277.
