SHELTON STATE TERRIFIC TUESDAY CONCERT SERIES

TO FEATURE LOPEZ TABOR DUO

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will feature the Lopez Tabor Duo on Tuesday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Alabama Power Recital Hall on the Martin Campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Lopez Tabor Duo, Alfonso Lopez, violin, and Michelle Tabor, piano, have performed and toured together in the southeastern United States and Venezuela since 2004. Alfonso Lopez is one of the most prominent and versatile musicians of his country. He holds the important position of concertmaster of the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, the national and principal orchestra, which has been nominated to receive a Latin Grammy award for Best Instrumental CD. He is also a conductor, teacher, and composer. Michelle Tabor grew up in Venezuela and now lives in Tallahassee, Florida. She holds doctorate, masters, and bachelor’s degrees in music from Florida State University, the University of Denver, and Tulane University. Shelton State’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series is designed to showcase a variety of repertory styles. Weekly performances are offered by guest artists as well as Shelton State faculty and students.
