SHELTON STATE BEGINS HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) kicks-off holiday activities at the College with two events this week.

On Tuesday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m., the Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will feature the Shelton State music department’s presentation of holiday music and the annual tree lighting. The Shelton Singers and the SSCC Jazz Ensemble will perform sacred and secular pieces, and the audience will be invited to participate in a traditional sing-along. Held in the Martin Campus Atrium, the event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday’s event will also serve as the beginning of the College’s annual Here Comes Santa Claus donation drive benefitting United Way organizations. Sponsored by SSCC Ambassadors, the project allows students, faculty, and staff to offer assistance to the West Alabama community.

The SSCC Christmas Concert will follow on Thursday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Martin Campus Atrium. The event is free and open to the public.
