SHELTON STATE’S PHI THETA KAPPA RECOGNIZED AT

ALABAMA REGIONAL CONVENTION

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State’s Alpha Epsilon Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa received honors at the Alabama Regional Convention on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

The Alpha Epsilon Iota chapter was awarded 5-Star status, the highest level of engagement recognized by Phi Theta Kappa. For the second consecutive year, chapter officers received the Distinguished Officer Team Award. Catherine Nafe, a Shelton State sophomore, was named to the All-Alabama Academic Team. Ms. Nafe and chapter sponsor, Dr. Kevin Windham, were pinned as completers of the Competitive Edge program. As a new chapter advisor, Mrs. Shywanda Moore was honored with the Alabama Region’s Paragon Award. Ms. Moore was the region’s only recipient.

Officers for 2015-16 are Donielle Allen, Catherine Nafe, Ashley Bridgmon, Samantha Beard, Sera Powers, Ty Sparks, Blake Averette, and Brooke Rodenberry. Officers for 2016-17 will be sworn in during the Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremony on April 21, 2016.
