SHELTON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE SINGERS
PRESENT BROADWAY BLAST
Tuscaloosa, Alabama – The Shelton State Community College Singers will present their spring showcase on Tuesday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on Shelton State’s Martin Campus. The showcase will feature musical theatre selections from the last six decades.
Because many students have never appeared in a musical production, Shelton State faculty chose to include musical theatre as part of the choral experience for the Shelton Singers. Glinda Blackshear, the group’s longtime director, says both the students and the audience will benefit. “Students are always astonished to find that moving and acting as they sing is very liberating,” said Blackshear. “The combination of choral medleys and solo numbers gives opportunities to all our singers and makes for a very entertaining evening for the audience.”
Admission for the showcase is free, and all are invited to attend. For more information on this and other fine arts events, visit sheltonstate.edu.
