SHELTON STATE PARTNERS WITH TUSCALOOSA CITY AND COUNTY SCHOOLS

FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT MEETING

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College will partner with Tuscaloosa City Schools and Tuscaloosa County Schools to host a county-wide dual enrollment interest meeting at Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy (TCTA) on Tuesday, July 19 at 6:00 p.m. Students in grades 10-12 interested in earning academic and technical credit are invited to attend.

Dual enrollment provides opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school and decreases the time a student spends in college. In addition to saving time, the affordable cost of dual enrollment saves money for students and their families. With so many advantages, it is easy to understand how high school and college administrators value the dual enrollment program.

“Dual enrollment is a growing option for many students who are excelling in academic and technical areas,” says Tennyson Smith, Director of Recruitment at Shelton State. “The program saves money, provides a seamless transition into college, and results in an earlier college graduation. It is truly a ‘win-win’ for students and their families, and Shelton State looks forward to being a part of their success.”
