FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THEATRE TUSCALOOSA ANNOUNCES FALL WORKSHOPS

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Theatre Tuscaloosa will hold two workshops this fall for acting and stage management training.

The first workshop, “Acting: Creating a Character,” will be held on Tuesday nights for four weeks from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. beginning September 6 and ending September 27. This workshop is available for teens (ages 16 and up) and for adults with any level of experience. Tina Turley, Executive Producer of Theatre Tuscaloosa, will teach students how to translate a character from script to stage. Those attending should wear shoes and attire that are easy to move around in.

The second workshop, “Stage Management Boot Camp,” will be a one-day, four-hour basic training conducted by veteran stage managers on Sunday, October 16, starting at 2:00 p.m. Students will learn how to manage each phase of a production. From auditions to rehearsals to the actual performance, expectations and responsibilities will be explained through real-world examples of what a stage manager might face during a show.

The cost to participate in each workshop is $40.00. A limit of 16 participants will be accepted per workshop. Registration is now open and will remain active until the class fills or until noon the day before the workshop starts.

Theatre Tuscaloosa is planning two more workshops for spring of 2017. Information about future workshops will be released once dates have been set.

More information about the workshops is available at www.theatretusc.com or 205.391.2277.
