FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THEATRE TUSCALOOSA AND TUSCALOOSA CHILDREN’S THEATRE ANNOUNCE THEATRE CAMP 2012

April 3, 2012 (TUSCALOOSA, AL) – Theatre Tuscaloosa and Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre are partnering again to offer Theatre Camp 2012 for children ages 5-18 in July.

“After a very successful Theatre Camp 2011, we are excited to be continuing this partnership again this year,” said Theatre Tuscaloosa Executive Producer Tina Turley.

“Over 120 children participated in last year’s camp, and we received rave reviews from parents and children alike.”

The camp will run 8:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 16-27, 2012, in the Sandra Hall Ray Fine Arts Center at Shelton State Community College’s Martin Campus (9500 Old Greensboro Road). Classes are offered for ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-13, and 14-18. Session topics offered will include acting, dance/movement, singing, improvisation, auditioning, and technical theatre.

“Based on feedback from last year’s camp, we have revised some of our classes so that we can offer the basics of acting for new campers as well as some new topics for returning campers,” said Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre Artistic Coordinator Drew Baker. “We’ve assembled a wonderful team of instructors including a mix of returning teachers and instructors new to our camp.”

Instructors for the camp include Stacy Alley, Clifton Baker, Brent Jones, Lindsey Jones, Mary Kathryn Matthews, Benny Russell, and Tina Turley. Each instructor is an expert in his or her area of instruction, having gained both academic training and real-world experience in each subject.

More information and registration materials are now available from both Theatre Tuscaloosa (www.theatretusc.com) and Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre (www.tuscaloosachildrenstheatre.com) or by calling camp coordinator Drew Baker at 205.310.8010.
