THEATRE TUSCALOOSA EVENT RAISES $2,600 FOR TUSCALOOSA DISASTER RELIEF FUND

October 12, 2011 (TUSCALOOSA, AL) – Theatre Tuscaloosa presented a donation of $2,602 to Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama Executive Director Terry Waters at their mixer on October 11 at Wings U. The contribution will support the Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund.

Waters said, “We heartily thank Theatre Tuscaloosa and its patrons for making a difference and helping our community recover and rebuild.”

The donation was made possible thanks to Theatre Tuscaloosa’s commitment to contribute $1 of every individual ticket sold to its production of Bear Country as well as by individual patrons who made additional contributions when they purchased tickets and subscriptions.

“We are so grateful to our patrons for helping us make this significant contribution,” said Theatre Tuscaloosa Executive Producer Tina Turley. “We couldn’t have made such a big gift without their support of our production of Bear Country and their amazing generosity. It will take all of us to rebuild our beautiful city.”

Theatre Tuscaloosa will continue its commitment to ongoing relief efforts throughout its 2011-2012 Season. For its next production, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a series of celebrity guest spellers will compete to earn a contribution to the relief-related charity of their choice.
