SHELTON STATE ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITIONS TO SQUAD 

TUSCALOOSA – Shelton State Community College announces the newest members of its 2010 -2011 cheerleading squad. 

The 12 names listed below join nine members of a Shelton State squad that has claimed three consecutive titles in the junior college division of the University Cheerleaders Association National College Cheerleading Championship, held annually in Orlando, Fla.

Caroline Goodlett (Cullman High School) 

Raven Gregg (St. Clair County High School) 

Tori Kortbawi (Hale County High School) 

Aaron Pollard (Wicksburg High School) 

Justin Ramierez (McIntosh High School – GA) 

Ray Santiago –(Duluth High School - GA) 

Carley Smith (Tuscaloosa County High School) 

Tucker Stephenson (Hoover High School) 

Catherine Virgona (John Carroll High School)

Coached by Christa Grizzle, the squad competed in the largest junior college division while topping four other community colleges to win its third consecutive championship. The 2010 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships is the recognized championship competition in the sport, which includes a national championship for mascots. The competition awards championships based on the size of the school and the mix of men and women on the squad.
