KIDZ KOLLEGE AT SHELTON STATE OFFERS QUALITY SUMMER ACTVITIES

TUSCALOOSA – Fun and stimulating activities await children ages Pre-K through 10th grade at Shelton State’s Kidz Kollege, July 6-23, 2009, at the College’s Martin Campus, 9500 Old Greensboro Road.

Kidz Kollege offers a varied curriculum including creative, educational, and fun activities that encourage development in such topics as math and reading, language, study skills, art, music, cooking, writing, and computer skills. Kidz Kollege meets Monday through Thursday, 12:30 – 5:20 p.m., with each class’s 12 sessions lasting 90 minutes. Each class has a maximum of 12 students, in order to provide hands-on and stimulating interaction with its instructor.

Students are placed in the appropriate class based upon their level of education. Parents are asked to provide SAT scores, Star & Early Literacy test results, or other testing results that will help instructors identify the skills that need reinforcement. Tuition is $155 per child, per course, with a materials fee included. A partial payment of $80 per child per course is due upon submission of registration information. The remaining balance of $75 is then due by July 6, 2009. Discounts are also available for families with more than one child enrolled or for a child enrolled in multiple classes.

“Over the years Kidz Kollege has successfully combined a fun and relaxed atmosphere with qualified teachers that take time with each student to ensure a quality learning experience,” says Shannon Gryska, Director of Community Education. “This process can make all of the difference for students looking to get a better foundation for the upcoming year or remedial help for the past semester. Parents find that our teachers and staff are second-to-none when it comes to helping their child progress to the next level.”
