The Quality Month theme for 2008 is “College of Champions.” Speaking at the breakfast will be former Shelton State student Deontay Wilder, Bronze Metal Winner in the 2008 Olympics.

The 22 year old was the only boxer on the United States team to win a medal in Beijing.  He's the first boxer ever born and trained in Alabama to make the Olympic team.

Wilder, who has only been boxing for three years, has won the National Golden Gloves Title, the USA Boxing National Title, the Olympic Trials National Title, and the Bronze at the Beijing Olympics.  He did all this with only 30 total bouts of experience, which has never been done before in the history of boxing.

Deontay has been featured in the Washington Post, MSNBC, USA Today, Good Morning America, The Oprah Winfrey Show, ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights, The New York Times, NBC, Ring Magazine, and Sports Illustrated.
