SSCC Adult Education Program Celebrates Graduation

Tuscaloosa - The Shelton State Community College Adult Education Program held its GED Graduation Ceremony on May 8, 2008 in the Umphrey Center on its Martin Campus in Tuscaloosa.

Thomas J. Taylor, Dean of Student Services, delivered the commencement address, applauding the graduates for their perseverance and for not listening to the “nay-sayers”.

The student speaker was Heather Lorenzo. She too congratulated her fellow graduates and talked about the support she received from her family and teachers and about the difference a GED was making in her life.

Mark A. Heinrich, Ph.D. and president of Shelton State Community College, praised the graduates on their accomplishment.
