Leigh Hays has joined the staff of Shelton State Community College in the newly created position of Director of Marketing and Communications.

She also served as interim director of the DCH Cancer Treatment Center.

A native of Birmingham, Hays received her B.A. degree from the University of Alabama in Advertising and Public Relations.

“Shelton State is indeed fortunate to have Leigh join our team,” said Lew Drummond, Director of Advancement for the college. “Her depth and breadth of experience is exactly what we needed at this stage in our growth.”

Active in community affairs, she is a former member of the Junior League of Tuscaloosa and served as chairman of the group’s annual Merry Market, a Christmas fundraising event.
