Dedication of Renovated Fredd Campus Scheduled

Tuscaloosa -  Shelton State Community College will formally dedicate its renovated administration building on C.A. Fredd campus on Thursday, May 4 at 10:00 A.M.  The C.A. Fredd Campus is located at 3401 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.

The C.A. Fredd Campus, formerly the C.A. Fredd State Technical College, was opened in 1965.  The school was merged with Shelton State Community College in 1994 and is designated as one of the nations "Historically Black Colleges and Universities."

The May 4th event will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of the school.

The administration building has been undergoing renovations for the past year.  Designed by Ward, Scott and Vernon Architects, Inc., with construction by Hall-Taylor Construction, the building echoes the circular dome of the school's Martin Campus.

The dedication and anniversary celebration is open to the public.
