CAMPUS NEWS FROM SHELTON STATE

Two new employees have joined the staff of the Admission’s Office at Shelton State Community College.

Khristy Large joined the staff as of February 1 in the areas of enrollment management and retention. She comes to Shelton State from Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama.

Elaine Bobo, formerly the Assistant to the Director of the Creative Writing Program at the University of Alabama, began her new duties assisting students through the admission process on March 1.

Brandi Bain, a student at Shelton State Community College, was recently awarded the “Benjamin Cummings Allied Health Scholarship”, a national scholarship offered by the national textbook publisher. Bain, one of only five students from across the country received a $1,000 Allied Health Student Scholarship and will serve on the Benjamin Cummings Student Advisory Board.

Brett Butler, Shelton State Electronics instructor, will present at the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development to be held in Austin, Texas May 29-June 1. His one-hour presentation, “Using Technology to Link the Classroom to Industry,” is scheduled for Monday, May 30, 2005.
