Women’s Soccer Team Makes the Grade

Tuscaloosa – Once again the Shelton State Community College Women’s Soccer Team has completed the fall semester with outstanding academic results.

“Our team ended the fall semester with a 3.46 GPA, which qualifies for our athletic director to nominate us for National Junior College Athletic Association Academic Team of the Year,” said Coach Nellie Christian. “The GPA that we ended up with this year is higher than the one we submitted last year; in fact, our GPA is higher than last year’s top ranked team.”

The Shelton State women's soccer team is composed of 17 players: Heather Allen, Ellen Campbell, Kime Davey, Marguax Edington, Molly Einfeldt, Erica Glidewell, Maria Lizcano, Jessica Martinez, Lowry McCool, Krista McMillan, Taylor Munsey, Sarah Norton, Anna Oglesby, Greta Perkins, Katie Schager, Lindsey Tate and Alisa Terrell. Coaches for the team are Nellie Christian and assistant Channing Howington.

“I am so proud of this team and what they have accomplished both on the playing field and in the classroom,” said President Rick Rogers of Shelton State Community College. “Their commitment to their studies and their sport sets a remarkable example for all the students here.”
