SHELTON STATE’S OSMORE HONORED BY UCP

Tuscaloosa – Jimmy Osmore, Instructional Curriculum Support Specialist at Shelton State Community College, has been honored by the United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama with its first ever “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Osmore, who joined the staff at Shelton State in 1985 and became a full-time employee in 1991, has served on the UCP board of directors for 21 years.

“The award is presented in recognition of his commitment and long-term dedication to advancing the independence of persons with disabilities. He has taken active leadership roles on the board including serving as chairman of our ‘Taste of the Town’ fundraising event for over 8 years,” said Toni Franklin of UCP of West Alabama.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a member of the community who has made a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities and their community through years of dedicated service to UCP.
