SSCC Phi Theta Kappa To Induct New Members

TUSCALOOSA – The Shelton State Community College Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will induct new members at its fall ceremony on October 24 at 2:30 PM on the college’s Martin Campus at 9500 Old Greensboro Road in Tuscaloosa.

“We hold two inductions each year, in the fall and the spring. Students must have a GPA of 3.5 to be invited to join PTK. The invitation alone is an honor and recognition of their accomplishment,” said Claire Brock, PTK coordinator for Shelton State.

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.5 million members and 1,200 chapters located in 50 United States, U.S. territories, Canada, and Germany.
