New Appointments Made at Shelton State

TUSCALOOSA – President Rick Rogers of Shelton State Community College has announced five new appointments at the school as it reorganizes its administrative structure.

Mrs. Gladys Hill has been named Assistant Dean for Health Services. Hill began her career in nursing at West Alabama General Hospital in Northport. From 1984 to 1994, Mrs. Hill taught in the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Shelton State and in 1994 became Director of the Shelton State Community College Nursing Programs.

Mrs. Linda Grote, Associate Dean for Administrative Services, has been selected to fill the position of Associate Dean for Academic Services. Grote, employed at Shelton State since 1980, has served as Chairperson of the Division of Social Sciences, Speech and Fine Arts as well as ACT WorkKeys coordinator and ACT Job Profiler. She holds degrees from Samford University and the University of Alabama.

Dr. Bruce Bizzoco has served as Associate Dean for Instruction Services and assumes the role of Associate Dean of Student Services. A long time employee of the college, Dr. Bizzoco has served in various positions at the college during his 25 year tenure. He has taught anthropology and fencing classes and continues to do so. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Alabama and the United States Olympic Training Center.

Ms. Jenetta Hargrow has served as Director of Recruiting for Shelton State and has been given additional supervisory responsibilities with the title of Assistant Dean for Student Services. She began her education at Shelton State receiving both an A.S. and A.A.S. degrees. She received her B.S. degree from Stillman College.

Mr. Ronald Range, Title III Coordinator, will become Assistant Director for the Fredd Campus in addition to his duties with Title III. Range has been employed at Shelton State since 1992 beginning as Assessment Coordinator and then as Director of Institutional Research. He holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Stillman College and a Masters of Public Administration from UAB.

In announcing the appointments, Dr. Rogers said, “I am delighted that these five individuals have accepted these new responsibilities. Their long-term commitment to this institution and its students has helped make Shelton State such a fine college.”
