THEATRE TUSCALOOSA SCHEDULES AUDITIONS

Tuscaloosa - Theatre Tuscaloosa will hold auditions in January for two upcoming productions scheduled for the Bean-Brown Theatre in the Sandra Hall Ray Fine Arts Center on the campus of Shelton State Community College.

Auditions for "Death of a Salesman" by Arthur Miller will be held Monday, January 3 and Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at the Bean-Brown Theatre. The production, directed by Tina Fitch, will run February 18 - February 27, 2005. Roles are available for eight men and two women.

Auditions for the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “CATS” will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre for adult roles only. The minimum age is 16. The director is seeking dynamic adult male and female performers, proficient in one or more of the following areas: strong singers who move well, strong dancers who sing well, excellent dancers, singing not required.

Auditionees should be prepared to sing 16 bars of both an up-tempo and a ballad from traditional musical theatre repertoire. Please bring a headshot, resume and sheet music in the proper key (no tapes or CD's). Performers will be taught a dance combination and should wear clothes and shoes to move comfortably.

"CATS" will be presented in Tuscaloosa July 19 through 24, following a two week run in Birmingham.
