Shelton State Presidential Search Narrows to Five

Tuscaloosa - The Presidential Search Committee for Shelton State Community College has narrowed the list of candidates to five from the original 47 applicants.

The Committee, headed by Dr. Vicki P. Hawsey, President of Wallace State Community College, met November 19 at the Shelton State Martin Campus.

The five finalists, their current employment positions and educational backgrounds are:

Dr. Luther Rayburn Brooks; President, Northwestern Technical College: Ed. D. Higher Education Administration, Ed. S. Educational Leadership, M.A. Education, B.S. Education, A.A. Liberal Arts

Dr. Glendon S. Forgey; Vice President for Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer, Tallahassee Community College: Ed D. Higher Education Administration, M.B.A., B.S. Accounting

Dr. Mark Heinrich; Dean of Education, Carson-Newman College: Ph. D. Counseling, M.A. Educational Psychology and Guidance, B.S. Psychology

Dr. Bill Thallemer; President, Lake Land College: Ph.D. Higher Education Administration, M.Ed. Higher Education – Student Personnel, BBA Management

Dr. Martyn Clay; Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, St. Petersburg College: Ed. D. Educational Leadership, M.S. Management, B.A. History

The five finalists will be in Tuscaloosa for a reception on Monday, November 26, 2007. The reception is from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm in the Atrium of Shelton State Community College and is open to the public. Individual interviews will begin Tuesday, November 27th at 9:00 am. The interviews will be held at the College’s Martin Campus throughout the day in room 2255 and are also open to the public.
