Mallory to Entertain at Alumni Meeting

Tuscaloosa – The Alumni Association of Shelton State Community College will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:00 P.M. in the Bean-Brown Theatre of the Sandra Hall Ray Fine Arts Center at 9500 Old Greensboro Road in Tuscaloosa.

Special entertainment for the meeting will be Dr. Allen Mallory.  Mallory’s comedy club sellouts, keynote speeches and television appearances have endeared him to audiences across the country and made him the talk of the comedy club industry.  His audience members have remarked “I laughed till I cried” and “This man is a riot.”

Dr. Mallory is a dynamic, entertaining speaker who uses humor in talking about working with children and families. His unique ability to inject humor into serious topics is unmatched.  He has 25 years of experience in education and is currently a member of the faculty at Shelton State Community College where he teaches courses in Child Development.

“We are delighted that Dr. Mallory has agreed once again to provide the entertainment for our annual meeting,” said Ronda Shirley, Alumni Council member.  “This is always one of the most fun events we host.”

Tickets for the performance are $10 with all proceeds going to fund the Alumni Association’s scholarships for adult students.  Continuing education credits are also available for child care workers.

One of the oldest community college alumni groups in Alabama, since its inception, the Shelton State Alumni Association has played an important role in encouraging continued interest in and loyalty to the College.
