This was a performance piece that was exploring interpersonal relationships and the edges of comfort zones. How we are perceived is critically important, so I elected to take that a step further and not only have others have an altered sense of who they think I am, but have them literally alter me and how I am presented to the world. In this piece I approached strangers and asked them to cut off braids of my hair. What is shown here is the documentation of the process which includes the braids and the resulting conversations.
This is a reel of the results of the progress made to my hair. It took the help of 42 strangers and 14 days to finish the hair cut.
