Empire QuiltFest's eleventh show will be held April 25 and 26, 2026 at Fulton Montgomery Community College's Physical Education building in Johnstown; Saturday hours are 9-4 and Sunday hours are 10-4.
The theme for the 2026 show will be "Revolution in Color" in honor of our country's 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We hope to have great participation in the theme quilt category. Your theme quilt can be patriotic, but could also represent any revolution, including music revolutions, or simply revolving objects. It could also focus on the "Color" rather than the revolution and include variations of a single color or other possibilities on the color wheel. Any one of those themes will count as well as any other interpretation you can justify in your description as "Revolution in Color". Be creative! Just remember, the theme quilt cannot be any larger that 42 inches in any direction.
Empire QuiltFest is a biannual event organized by a group of five quilt guilds. Sew Busy Quilt Guild is one of these participants. Each of the five guilds agrees to perform certain tasks for the show. One duty SBQG usually accepts is handling the quilt registrations. That means we also type up the quilt descriptions and make the decorative clothes pins that attach the description to each quilt.
Ceci VanDenburgh & Cathy Jo Rogers are our guild's representative for Empire QuiltFest. If you'd like more information, go to EmpireQuiltFest.org or email our guild at SewBusyQuilts@gmail.com.
