A warm welcome from the incoming Brigade Staff of 2018-19!

Post date: Jun 10, 2018 7:10:04 AM

We hope everyone is making the most out of the remaining school year, especially from our seniors where this will mark the end of their high school careers and beginning of a new chapter in life as they graduate. We truly appreciate all the magnificent and valuable work that you all have put in for JROTC to make this another vibrant and intense year, and cannot wait to embrace the opportunity to collaborate with you all on the Brigade events ahead of us. To our incoming leadership, whatever your role and responsibilities, make it your own experience and ultimately own your position. To the rest of the fellow cadets, challenge and push yourselves for next year, because you will look back and reap the benefits from the hard work and effort that you put in. The utmost dedication and inspiration from instilling leadership and influence amongst fellow cadets is what makes JROTC for who we are, and we can’t wait to see you all succeed in future years to come. See you guys around!

Wreaths Across America

Post date: December 18th, 2018 9:12:46

December 15th marked the annual day to cover all Veterans grave markers with a Christmas wreath. More than 1,400 locations in all 50 U.S. states at sea and abroad spent their weekend honoring and paying respect for those fallen in battle during this wreath-laying ceremony. With 'Wreaths Across America' being one of the world's largest Veterans ceremonies, SDUSD JROTC cadets had a wonderful opportunity to witness this occasion at Greenwood Memorial Park and Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Photos from these ceremonies can be found in the link attached below:

SDUSD Cadet Picnic 2018

Post date: October 11th, 2018

Saturday, October 6th marked our annual Cadet Picnic for 2018 where thousands of students gathered around Admiral Baker Park to boast their school colors, compete in picnic events, and meet JROTC students from other schools. As one of San Diego Unified Brigade’s most valued traditions, Cadet Picnic builds esprit de corps, encourages collaboration among teammates, motivates cadets to improve their physical performances, and provides an opportunity for cadets to inspire each other to seize the mantle of leadership through a healthy competitive spirit in this fun-filled event.

Thank you all for setting an amazing start to a wonderful year, and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Photos from Cadet Picnic can now be accessed on our Facebook page or the Google Photos link below:

4th Annual JROTC & MOWW BBQ

Post date: Aug 22, 2018 9:00:00 PM

On Tuesday, August 21st, the Joint Brigade staff, cadre, and members of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) in San Diego County came together to celebrate the MOWW Chapter's 92nd birthday at the Revere Center.

This was not only a time to celebrate, but an opportunity for the brigade staff to introduce themselves amongst all cadre from all schools in the Joint Brigade and MOWW companions. We followed our introduction with a briefing highlighting the goals and curriculums of our program. After our briefing, a BBQ luncheon was then thrown to celebrate.

Happy birthday to the MOWW Chapter! It was a great pleasure to meet everyone, and we look forward to having a great school year with you all.
