National Night Out Participation
2019 was our 20th year of annual National Night Out continual participation. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the event was cancelled County-Wide in 2020.
Average participation has been between 50 and 100 folks (plus multiple representatives of the Marion County Sheriff's Office and our local Volunteer Fire Department. We generally alternate between the City and County Parks - with each making a "statement" that "We Are Present." )
Unique happenings: We have had multiple year representation of the MCSO K-9 Unit, representation of the Drug Van its first year, representation from the County Commissioners Office, and annually have local fire rigs and volunteer firefighters!
When possible we have one or two K-9's, their partners, and a "bite-suit" bringing their "work" to life in front of the crowd.
