REPORT TO MCSO ONLINE
https://www.co.marion.or.us/SO/Pages/OnlineReporting.aspx
All information filed through the Online Crime Reporting System will be reviewed by Marion County Sheriff's Office personnel.
You will be able to print a copy of your report for your records.
Upon MCSO receipt and review, a report may be returned for clarification or necessary changes, or rejected for not meeting the online reporting criteria. You may be contacted by a deputy.
After a report is approved, a case number will be assigned.
If further investigation is needed, a deputy will contact you.
Filing a false police report is a crime. Any person who knowingly makes a false or misleading material statement to a public servant is guilty of a gross misdemeanor. "Material statement" means a written or oral statement reasonably likely to be relied upon by a public servant in the discharge of his or her official powers or duties.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office launched a new online crime reporting option for community members. In 2021, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office handled over 30,500 calls for service throughout Marion County. As we strive to continue to provide high levels of customer service, adding the ability to report certain crimes through our Public Safety Citizens Service Portal gives community members the ability to share information at their convenience instead of waiting for direct contact by a deputy.
The online reporting system is reserved for incidents with no suspect information that occurred in response areas covered by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Incidents that are eligible for this new service are limited to:
Hit and Run (no injury to person)
Theft from a Building
Theft of Services
Graffiti
Suspicious Activity
Lost or Mislaid Property
Theft of Mail
Telephonic Harassment
Identity Theft
Vandalism
Fraud
Shoplifting
Community members who would prefer to report incidents by calling our non-emergency number and speaking with a deputy directly will continue to have that option at 503-588-5032.
“By offering people multiple ways to report crimes our goal is to be respectful of our community members time and ensuring they have an option that is accessible and convenient to meet their needs.” – Jeff Stutrud, Enforcement Division Commander
