Menu Help

The Menu tab provides direct access to the Autostar II menu as an expandable/contractable table. Menu items can be accessed by tapping major headings (Object, Event, Guided Tour, Glossary, Utilities & Setup), then tapping subsequent subitems until the chosen function is selected. Tapping a heading or subheading again will collapse that portion of the menu. When a function is selected, SB will immediately return to the Keypad tab for prompts, responses, or user input in the LCD.

Default Menu

At initial installation, SB uses a Default Menu. This is the menu published by Meade for the LX200GPS, and may not match the internal scope menu of other scope models or firmware versions. While many commands may remain the same, it is possible that mismatched menus can produce unexpected results. In most cases it will be important to import the menu directly from the scope to avoid potential conflicts.

Imported Menu

On first connection to a scope, an alert box will prompt the user to either use the default menu or import the menu from the scope. In almost all cases, importing the menu will be the appropriate response. Importing walks through the scope's entire menu tree and can take a couple of minutes. Once the Default or Import decision is made, and import is complete if chosen, the menu will be stored in user defaults and used from then on. If, on a future connection, SB detects a change in scope model or firmware version, it will again prompt the user to use the Default menu, the existing imported menu, or to import the menu from the scope.

The current menu can also be switched between Default and Imported in More > Preferences.

Note: Reset ScopeBoss in Preferences will reset the current and stored menu to the Default menu.

Extra Submenu

An Extra submenu, unique to SB, is appended to the app's scope menu. This is intended primarily to provide menu selectable options as User Button commands. This submenu adds the following:

Enter

Mode

upArrow

downArrow

Spiral

Sync

Init
