Keypad Help

ScopeBoss launches to the Keypad tab. This is an emulation of the physical Autostar II controller, adapted for the iPhone screen. Most of the functionality of the Autostar II is accessible on this tab.

LCD Display

At the top of the tab is a representation of the AS2 display. As with the real controller, this displays prompts and responses from the scope, as well as user input. By displaying 3 lines instead of 2, it can provide additional information in some cases, such as current coordinate readouts. The display will go blank when the scope is put to sleep.

Enter, Mode & Go To Keys

Tapping any of these keys will perform the same function in SB as on the real AS2. Additionally, a long press will perform the same alternate function, such as Sync for Enter or Input Coordinates for Mode.

Numeric Keys

Tapping any of these keys will perform the same function in SB as on the real AS2. These buttons are context aware, creating numeric user input in some cases and hot button functions, such as Messier List or Slew Speed Adjust, in others. In cases where the scope is expecting numeric input, left and right arrows will appear at the right side of the LCD display to provide editing control.

Up & Down Arrow Scroll Keys

Tapping either of these keys will perform the same function in SB as on the real AS2. The Up arrow scrolls up a list or menu and the Down arrow scrolls down. Pressing and holding will produce continuous scrolling.

Connection Button

Tapping this button in the upper right corner of the Keypad tab flips to the Connection screen, where WiFi parameters are configured and the Connect to Scope button establishes the link between SB and the WiFi-RS232 adapter.
