7) Environmental Readiness

Natural Disaster vs. Human Conflict

The Native American tribes were subject to genocide in the name of progress. Progress has usually meant Industrial Progress that improves the technological convenience of the subjugated consumer population. I seek to redefine progress as technological innovation combined with evolution of mind, spirit, and culture. Environmental enlightenment depends on these realizations by the people and its government.

Psychological and physical preparation for emergencies is of prime importance. When a society embraces War above all else, it is either being repressed or repressing others; either way it holds that freedom and liberty are subject to War. Belligerence against other humans due to wartime grudges and the bigoted hatred fear produces interferes with disaster readiness and innovations in culture, society, and architecture.

The Global Climate Crisis should take the place of any War, as it surpasses the scope of any previous conflict. War is obsolete in the face of greater Worldly concerns. Although there will always be those who seek to do harm to others, we must ourselves move beyond resorting to primitive terms when the fate of civilization hangs in the balance. No, we must lead by example and not give in to rebel terrorists by becoming terrorists who use weapons of mass destruction and storm troopers.

Power backed by righteous beliefs may have spawned countless wars, but they can also end Wars before they even begin through means more clever than brutish butchery, shooting guns, or strategic bombing. A planetary awakening of moral conscientiousness must begin within individuals and be promoted further by our leaders. War is not just the reverse of goodwill, but the perverse. War is an environmental Catch 22. I oppose War.
