Manager - Research & Development

The company is the pioneer and the largest manufacturer of SMALL OFFSET PRINTING machines in India. As Manager - R&D and as part of the policy making team, I was responsible for Design, Development and Prototype testing for reliability. I was also responsible for tool engineering, QA and MIS.

The function included:

* goal setting for the department and for the individuals

* conceptualising the needs of the customer on the basis of market feed back

* Set the specification, design, prototypes testing, manufacture, verify and validate the machine.

* Identify the tooling requirement, design and prove the tooling.

* Ensure that the design specifications are met.

* Establish Quality standards and ensure its implementation.

Achievements:

* Synthesis and automation of a 5-bar mechanism tracing a polynomial curve.

* Established a RESPONSIVE Design and Development team

* Moulded the team to achieve Quality by Design

* Established procedure for Design Review using IEC 1160 as a guide.

* Transparent and Objective evaluation of performance of individuals based on the input and resource provided
